What “scalping timeframes” mean

Scalping timeframes are trading time horizons used to evaluate and execute positions over very short periods, typically with the goal of responding to small price movements. In this context, “timeframe” is the chosen chart interval (for example, seconds, minutes, or other short units) that shapes how quickly new information appears and how often decisions are made.

It helps to separate two ideas:

  2. Uncertainty depends on the data and assumptions: timeframe-based performance is sensitive to how you model spreads, commissions, slippage, and whether the data reflects the execution you could actually achieve.

  3. Outcomes vary with costs, execution, and jurisdiction: the net effect of short-term trading can differ across trading venues and legal/regulatory contexts. Even without making any prediction, you should expect variability because the operating environment changes.

For verification, focus on what can be checked without certainty: whether performance remains consistent after you incorporate more realistic cost and execution assumptions, and whether it persists across multiple market conditions.
