Even if you observe that certain candle shapes often coincide with favorable outcomes in a past sample, the relationship can weaken when conditions change. This is a failure mode of inference: “it worked before” does not logically entail “it will work again.”

If you choose definitions after seeing outcomes (or only look for charts that “confirm” your interpretation), you risk false confidence. Careful verification requires fixed rules stated in advance and testing across multiple, not cherry-picked, periods.
